Filtering Grapes

Use the left sidebar to filter grapes by various criteria:

  • Colour — Filter by red or white grapes
  • Region — Old World (Europe) or New World (Americas, Australasia, etc.)
  • Origin Country — Where the grape variety originated
  • Growing Countries — Where the grape is commercially planted today
  • WSET Level — Filter by wine education level (Level 2, Level 3, Diploma)
  • Importance — Major, Notable, or Obscure varieties

Click on any filter option to apply it. Click again to remove. Multiple filters can be combined.

Searching

Three search fields let you find grapes quickly:

  • Grape name — Search by grape variety name or alias
  • Origin country — Search by country of origin
  • Growing country — Search by countries where it's grown

Search results appear as you type (live search). Click the × button inside any search box to clear that field.

Tip: Extended Search Enable the "Extended search" checkbox to also search grape descriptions and regional notes, not just names and countries.

Changing the View

Choose how grapes are displayed:

  • Cards — Visual grid with images and key info (default)
  • List — Compact table view with sortable columns

Toggle between views using the View section in the sidebar.

Sorting

In List view, click any column header to sort by that column:

  • Name — Alphabetical by grape name
  • Country — By country of origin
  • Colour — Red or White
  • Volume — By global production volume
  • WSET — By wine education level

Click the same header again to reverse the sort order. Arrows show the current sort direction.

Sidebar Controls

  • Expand All / Collapse All — Open or close all accordion sections at once
  • Clear Filters — Reset all filters and searches to show all grapes

Reordering Sidebar Sections

Customise the sidebar layout to your preference:

  • Drag and drop — Grab the handle and drag sections up or down
  • Arrow buttons — Click the up or down arrows to move sections one position

Your custom order is saved automatically and remembered for future visits.
